Royal Trinity Hospice

Royal Trinity Hospice

From 360° bucket list experiences to the world’s first 360° hospice tour, our partnerships with Royal Trinity Hospice opened our eyes to exciting possibilities of VR for healthcare. After workshops with staff and patients, we created authentic simulations for Trinity, fostering empathy and understanding. These scenarios enhanced skills and enriched patient care, representing the next step in our journey to improve healthcare training.

Goals & Outcomes

Trinity’s heartfelt goal was to boost staff confidence and competence in end-of-life care while extending their training programs. In workshops and interviews we created VR simulations reflecting real-life scenarios at Trinity.

With staff participation, scenarios showcased patient perspectives, providing valuable learning opportunities. Aptitude-based scenarios also allowed staff to safely experience and reflect on their practice, nurturing empathy and enhancing patient care.

Delivery

Trinity needed easily accessible, individualised training for their staff. To achieve this we identified a delivery solution allowing smartphone use with app based downloadable content, eliminating the need for Wi-Fi. It’s easy-to-clean design aligned with crucial hygiene and patient safety guidelines.

Our new delivery solution now allows trainers to remotely operate multiple headsets. This upgrade includes offline streaming for a seamless, immersive, and user-friendly training experience for both trainers and trainees.
