Homeless awareness

Homeless awareness

After years of working alongside our friends at Royal Trinity Hospice they embraced our innovative proposal for Homeless Awareness Week, an immersive first-person VR homeless experience. Recognising the unique healthcare challenges faced by their homeless community, Trinity sought to understand their perspective and engagement with healthcare services.

Goals & Outcomes

Trinity wanted to help staff empathise with the homeless community’s perspective on accessing services.

By better understanding their feelings and needs, the goal was to boost staff confidence and encourage them to reach out in real life when witnessing homeless community members in need of palliative care.

Delivery

In our signature Flix style we harnessed the natural environment, taking users outdoors to amplify immersion. This added realism and had an incredible effect on the viewer.

“Flix are dynamic, creative, responsive, organised – and have given METRO a competitive edge at a crucial time”.
Dr Greg Ussher, CEO Metro Charity, Chair South East London Primary Care Joint Committee
“The end product made me cry – because it captured so beautifully the messages we wished to impart. Just beautiful in a pure and transparent way”.
Dawn Chaplin, Head of End of Life and Bereavement at UHB NHS

“The scenario’s are clinically credible and many identify directly with the interactions. Clear demonstration of skills help learners link theory to practice and increase the transfer of knowledge and expertise”.
