TFL – Terrorist threat training

In 2017 an “improvised explosive device” on a District Line train in London injured twenty-nine people. Having used the Underground for years and understanding its importance to over 3 million daily commuters, we crafted an immersive 360° VR training demo for Transport for London (TfL). This chimed with TfL’s enthusiasm to educate commuters on the correct steps to take in case of a similar terrorist attack.

Goals & Outcomes

The demo was designed to showcase the potential of our 360° immersive simulations, sparking conversations on steps for public safety during an underground terrorist attack. Flix spoke with survivors of the 7/7 attack and crafted a short storyboard based on their feedback. After establishing key experience stages, we cast and rehearsed 360° actors and secured a filming crew.

Our goal, as with all simulations, was to create a realistic experience captured in a genuine location.

Delivery

Right from the start, we ensured the immersive experience was filmed and delivered to the highest standards. To showcase the simplicity of reaching the mass public, we designed the experience to be from a commuter’s perspective and be observational only.
