CW+ – Ground breaking research

CW+ commissioned Flix to provide content for three exciting VR studies at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital. The projects include a trial monitoring the impact of VR on anxiety and pain levels in Children’s A&E; a sleep study evaluating the effect of VR on sleep quality in the Intensive Care Unit; and a Cardiac Catheter Lab study evaluating the effect of VR on anxiety, stress, pain and reducing the risk of spasm.

As part of the project, Flix VR were commissioned to create ten unique one hour 360° films with spatial audio from various locations in the UK providing a welcome and familiar distraction to patients. Content includes a Thames Clipper Experience, Clapham Common, Richmond Deer Experience, a lake in the Pennines, Cornwall Beach, and a Canal Boat experience. We were also delighted to collaborate with The Serpentine Gallery and Pavilion, The Wallace Collection and the Chelsea Physic Garden who generously allowed us to film special content on site, specific to the project.

Their groundbreaking research study showed an average of a 42.9% reduction in pain levels and a 57.6% reduction in anxiety levels.
